OT
Neeti Clinics has 2 fully equipped operation theatres with state of art technology.
Major head and neck cancer surgeries and thyroid surgeries are conducted in theatre 1. The OT has a special air purifying unit to ensure safe and hygienic conduct of these surgeries. It has following equipments
1. LASER- The latest model C02 LASER by Martin company is stationed at the clinic. This technology is used to perform precise surgeries in the oral cavity and throat and vocal cords
2. Harmonic scalpel- This instrument uses the latest technology for stoping bleeding during surgery to help perform bloodless surgeries for head and neck and thyroid disorders.
3. Neuro-monitor- This is latest instrument to monitor and help preserve nerves during surgery (nerve for voice during thyroid and parathyroid surgery, facial nerve during parotid surgery). This helps to prevent the catastrophic complication of damage or paralysis of the nerves which is a possible complication in these surgeries.
4. Flexible intubating bronchoscope- Many patients with oral cancers also suffer from oral submucus fibrosis which hampers mouth opening in these patients. Therefore administration of anaesthesia becomes a challenge in them. Flexible intubating bronchoscope is the most recommended technique for these patients to ensure safety of the airway while performing surgery under general anaesthesia.
All precision ENT surgeries are performed in Theatre 2 at Neeti Clinics. These include microscopic ear surgeries, endoscopic nose and sinus surgeries and micro-laryngeal surgeries for voice disorders to name a few. Following equipment is stationed here
1. Microscope- 2 most advanced models of Carl Zeiss microscopes have been acquired at Neeti Clinics to facilitate performance of micro ear surgeries. These include surgeries for closure of ear drum perforations, bone deep infections of ear bones, surgeries to improve conductive hearing loss or for tumours of the ear
2. Endoscope- Monitor- Neeti Clinics OT has a high definition Storz endoscope camera and monitor system. This is truly beneficial for conducting precise and safe endoscopic nose and sinus surgeries and surgeries for removal of skull base tumours.
3. Coablator- This technology helps in conducting bloodless surgery in tonsil and adenoid removal and other nasal tumour remova.
4. Micro-debrider- This instrument used in endoscopic nose and sinus surgeries for removal of nasal polyps or evacuation of sinus infections. Medtronics debrider system is installed in our OT for this purpose
Our anaesthesia department is a comprehensive ENT and Head and Neck Anaesthesia team striving to ensure safe conduct of surgeries and accurate administration of medicines. We have 3 full time anaesthetists and 2 consulting critical care medicine specialists. They are specially trained for difficult airway anaesthesia including complex oral and throat cancer surgeries. Utmost attention is paid to upgrading knowledge and skills.
After surgery, patients are shifted to the ICU recovery area where intensive care monitoring is done to ensure safe immediate post-operative recovery. We have highly qualified intensivists and expertly trained nursing and paramedical staff manning this area round the clock. There is centralized O2 support, central suction and high-tech monitors to supervise and record vital patient parameters.
