FAQs For Patients

Neeti Clinics surgical and anaesthesia team have been pioneers for several techniques in thyroid surgery, to name a few

  1. Intra-operative neuro-monitoring- Ours is the first centre in the region to have this advanced machine, which helps to prevent damage to the nerve governing voice. Our rates of voice change, a dreaded complication after thyroid surgery are <0.01% which are much less than even international standards.
  2. Parathyroid Fluorescence Imaging- Neeti Clinics is one of the pioneer institute in the Vidarbha region to launch this latest technology to preserve the parathyroid glands along with their vasculature. These are calcium secreting glands and this advanced surgical technique reduces the need for taking high doses of calcium in the post-op period after thyroid surgery.
  3. Cervical epidural anaesthesia- This is a technique of anaesthesia where patients can undergo awake thyroidectomy. Our team has received world over recognition by being one of the only centres to have mastered this skill in thyroid surgery

The patient is first screened in OPD and requisite investigations such as biopsy, CT/MRI/PET scans are ordered. Surgical plan is made with consultation amongst surgeon, plastic reconstructive surgeon, dental surgeon, and intensive care specialist. Intensive monitoring facilities, dietary counselling, physiotherapy and experienced nursing care is made available to the patients during their post-op stay. Need based consultation with radiation/medical oncologists are facilitated for patients requiring multi-disciplinary care. Through support group meetings and celebratory encouragement during follow-up visits, patients and their family members are supported in all aspects to fight the cancer.

From the diagnostics including screening tests such as OAE, confirmatory tests such as BERA and assessment and therapy from trained audiologists and speech language pathologists, Neeti Clinics provides a comprehensive cochlear implant programme. It was the 1st centre in the region to successfully perform CI surgery 14 years ago. It is empanelled under the government funded ADIP scheme and also runs its own cochlear implant trust foundation to provide financial support to patients not eligible in government programmes. Doctors at the centre have received specialised accredited fellowship training in this surgery.

Patients suffering from diseases related to nose and sinuses are thoroughly evaluated in the OPD. Requisite tests such as nasal endoscopy, allergy testing, CT/MRI scans are ordered as indicated. Medical management is offered as suitable. Judicious criteria are employed to select surgical candidates. Surgeries for deviated nasal bone, sinus infections, polyps, etc are carried out endoscopically with start of art equipment.

Ours is the 1st centre in the region to acquire most advanced CO2 LASER machine and surgeons have received specialised training to expertly use it in all indications in ENT and Head and Neck surgery. Malignant and pre-malignant lesions in the oral cavity and throat, keloid lesions over the ear, trismus release surgeries to facilitate mouth opening in patients habituated to tobacco are namely few of the many LASER surgeries carried out at the centre.
