Neeti Clinics offers the in-house facility of complete audiological evaluation and treatment to its patients. We have a separate audiology department to conduct following tests-
A. Pure-tone audiometry and Impedance audiometry- These are basic hearing tests for diagnosing hearing loss and further categorizing it into conductive or sensorineural etiology. This in turn means the ability to identify where the fault lies either at the level of ear ossicles (bones), fluid behind the ear drum or weakness of the auditory nerve
B. Hearing aid fitting- Age related hearing loss is a serious detriment to quality of life for our senior citizens. Neeti Clinics offers accurate diagnosis, quantification and treatment advice for this condition. We have a team of highly qualified audiologists who give expert advice regarding appropriate selection and usage of customized hearing aids according to the specific requirements of the patients
C. Oto-acoustic emissions- Oto-acoustic emissions is a screening test for congenital hearing loss. It can be safely performed in new-born babies. It is a quick test with immediate and easily interpretable results.1 in 1000 children in India suffer from congenital hearing loss. Incidence is higher in certain high-risk groups such as premature born/ low birth weight babies, families with genetic history of hearing loss or any pre-natal/ maternal complications. Therefore, it is advisable to get this screening test for high-risk groups as well as all new born babies in general.
D. BERA- Brainstem evoked response audiometry is the most accurate diagnostic test for hearing loss, especially congenital hearing impairment in children or in adults who are not able to co-operate for routine audiometry. It maps the exact site of weakness in the auditory tract right from the auditory nerve upto the brainstem. This test in performed in a specialized sound treated room at our hospital. A team of experts then interpret and explain the results and guide further treatment that may involve haring augmentation or even cochlear implant surgery as seen suitable.
