Annual Thyroid Surgical Workshop at Rural Hospital Chikhaldara was a

Landmark event. Surgery and anesthesia technique were telecast live from Chikhaldara to a thyroid CME being conducted at St.Mary Hospital London.

Surgery from London was transmitted live to the delegates in Chikhaldara .The live transmission to London was as follows : Dr.Madan Kapre demonstrated thyroid surgery under cervical epidural anesthesia.Dr.Vidula Kapre demonstrated administration of cervical epidural anesthesia .Dr.Abhishek Vaidya moderated the surgery .Dr.Deven Mahore explained the OT infrastructure .Dr.Neeti Kapre Gupta described the teaching module at the Thyroid Surgical Workshop.The audience comprising of ENT surgeons at St.Mary’s Hospital were spell bound by the demonstration from Chikhaldara.

Thyroid Surgical Camp at Chikhaldara heralded a new dawn and landmark for how medical education will be delivered in the future.  What was achieved was as ambitious as it was successful. Live operating was beamed into central London over 4,547 miles away! Dr Vidula Kapre gave trainees and consultants in London a superlative demonstration in the art of cervical epidural anaesthesia, London were captivated by her skill and expertise.  This was followed by a masterclass demonstration of thyroidectomy under a cervical epidural by Dr Madan Kapre.  This event is something India can be immensely proud of as it represented a world 1^st in displaying live
